OCCUPY WALL STREET

Union’s are out in full force taking advantage of and positioning themselves at the OWS rallies. They were out last week using the media exposure as another way of putting focus on organizing as a solution!

DON’T BE FOOLED…

Know for sure that the UNIONS agenda is to target vulnerable employee’s who lack any knowledge of NLRA laws. This inherent threat to businesses and management is very real.If you are not familiar with the tenants of the UNIONS latest stealth weapons against management, I strongly suggest that you educate your management team as well as your employees.

Michael Rosado today launched a web campaign to warn how union politics can destroy a member’s life – and hopefully stand as a warning to others who are considering joining a union. “Many people, including myself, suffered emotionally and professionally from this unfortunate chain of events,” Rosado said, “and if I can help just one person avoid the things that happened to me it will be worth it.”

Michael Rosado spent 15 hard working years coming up through the ranks of the Laborers Union (L.I.U.N.A.) and was ultimately elected (and reelected) to terms as President and Business Manager of his Local (734). “I loved my union. When we started to fall on hard times in 2003 I took a 40% pay cut on my salary and still continued to serve my members to my last day,” Rosado explained.

Local 734 was made up of service industry employees, cleaners, doormen. maintenance, and warehouse workers. “I am proud to say that I rose to the top of my local on my merits and because of my hard work for my members,” Rosado explained, “there was no nepotism involved, which is so common in L.I.U.N.A and other unions in this country.”

But in December 2004 years of internal strife between the Local 734 Officers of the Executive Board (the local leadership) and the North Jersey L.I.U.N.A Regional Office (international leadership) came to a head. The International leadership decided to put the local union under Trusteeship.

“I was told by the Assistant Regional Manager that ‘we are taking over the keys to the car for awhile’,” Michael Rosado explained. The Regional office took over Local 734, fired the Executive Board and eventually put its leadership (including Rosado) on trial. “It was a kangaroo court led by a self-appointed and so-called ‘independent’ hearing officer,” Rosado explained. “They wrote their own script and when they couldn’t prove actual wrongdoing they just made up disparaging things to say about me.”

Sadly, within 2 years Local 734 was disbanded, its members were scattered and placed in other Locals. Astonishingly, many members were turned over to the S.E.I.U who were major competitors to L.I.U.N.A. in New Jersey.

“I was forced out of the union I had devoted so much of his life to and had to sit on the sidelines and watch my local die. It was gut-wrenching,” Rosado said. Michael Rosado sued the International for wrongful discharge and whistleblower retaliation, but it was too late. By the time his lawsuits were settled his local was gone.

Michael Rosado’s new website contains the full details of his story. There you will find:

A binding settlement agreement between Michael Rosado and the Laborer’s International Union for the case Byrne vs. Calastro, Civil Action No.05-68. This settlement ended several lawsuits between Rosado and L.I.U.N.A. (including Michael Rosado’s wrongful discharge and whistleblower claims against L.I.U.N.A.)

In this document L.I.U.N.A. agrees that Michael Rosado was not found to engage in any misconduct while leading his Laborer’s local. As Trustee of a L.I.U.N.A. fund, Rosado authorized an insurance settlement to transfer $75,000 to the union to cover legal fees. He was not found to have engaged in any of the alleged wrongdoing in the hearing officer’s report and did not have to pay the union one penny from his personal assets. A copy of the so-called “independent” hearing officer’s report which smeared Michael Rosado in order to do the political bidding of L.I.U.N.A. who hired him. The allegations made in this document were used by L.I.U.N.A. in its claims against Rosado. All of these claims were released and waived without any finding of guilt by Rosado.

“I want to thank the many loyal members and shop stewards who would continue to call me daily with their support,” Rosado said, “we were in a powerless situation under the power of L.I.U.N.A. But I was never expelled, I earned 2 pensions from my service at L.I.U.N.A., and most important, I kept my Dignity and self-respect.”
